Texas Hill Country

we ate at a great german place here in fredrickburg. John is having is favorite "Spaten" beer.

to
to the right is the rv site "barn" where they serve breakfast everymoring.

downtown Fredrickburg. Had over 70 different stores and museums

JR found the horses races!! He loves Fredickburg.

So we finally used our Kitchen for the first time! JR made dinner and breakfast!!

At the RV site .....they have these plots you can buy for your RV. Your can build your small homes on them. These were a couple of them. People sometimes rent them out.

This was the small creek, just in front of our site. We had hugh birds, squirrels, frog and tigers and lions and snakes....oh my!

Kellsey is getting big

We broke out the bikes!

We're heading for Corpus Christi today to see my sister Mollie after a fun three night stay here in the Texas Hill country. The Buckhorn Lake Resort in Kerrville is in a beautiful setting and we had a great site right above a small river ( see pix.) Nicest town in the area is Fredricksburg, which was founded by Germans back in the 1800's. Today it's touristy and fun. Great shopping (Susan helped stimulate the local economy a lot), fabulous 'Pacific War and Admiral Nimitz' museums and serious German food and beer. Another one of my favorite reasons for liking the area: an off track Horse Racing establishment with betting on all the tracks in the US! Didn't do too well but had a good time.

Dogs love this area as there are great grassy areas and lots of nice walking paths. Check out some of the Ownership areas here in Buckhorn; the stone is from local quarries and is very beautiful. Only had Mexican food once here at 'Mamacitas' in Kerrville...how's that for discipline?
